Book Fair
to Oct 20

Book Fair

Hey everyone! The EK Powe Book Fair starts next week.  Once again, we are using Bedford Falls as our vendor.  They have worked with me to tailor the fair for our school community leaving the toys at their warehouse, and bringing in lots of books for every age level plus advanced readers for our upper grade students who are ready for challenging elementary-appropriate books.  I can't wait to see all of the wonderful selections when the fair arrives on Friday.

Open M-F 8:30am - 4pm and Tuesday evening 6 - 8pm.

The book fair will need lots of volunteers to help our super-excited students make good selections and purchase their books during the school day and during our Growing Global Readers event on Tuesday evening. We also need help setting up the fair this Friday (Oct. 13) and taking it down the following Friday (Oct. 20). If you have time to spare, and would enjoy working at this exciting event, please use the following link to volunteer.

The fair is not only fun, but is a major fundraiser for the library.  Our library has been extremely busy this year.  Students and teachers have already checked out over 4,000 items since August.  Any money raised from this fair will go directly towards purchasing more books for Powe students to enjoy.

Thank you in advance for your support of the 2017 EK Powe Book Fair.  It is truly wonderful to be a part of such a strong school community.

Science Night

Science Night is held in the Spring of each school year. It is (another!) wonderful, not-to-be-missed event.  Many community groups lend support every year. There are all kinds of fun and educational activities set up on stations throughout the school.  We need parents for help setting up and tearing down.

Contact Treva.Fitts@dpsnc.net for more information or to volunteer.
