About

The E.K. Powe Parent-Teacher Association is a non-profit organization that represents a diverse community of families and dedicated teachers. Our mission is to strengthen our school community by addressing the needs and well-being of students, teachers, and families throughout the year.

We welcome all families to join us in supporting this mission.

Our Work

Tutoring

The PTA organizes volunteers and provides training for literacy tutors in our classrooms.
Teacher Reimbursement

PTA funds are used to reimburse teachers for supplies that they purchase for their classrooms.
Teacher Appreciation

Powe kids love their teachers! We give them opportunities to say thank you.
Spring Carnival

The Spring Carnival is our biggest annual fundraiser and a wonderful community event.
Grant Funding

The PTA has secured grant funds to support several projects around the school, like this wetland garden on the playground.
Garden Volunteers

Volunteers maintain garden areas and ensure that teaching gardens are ready to use.
Community Building

The PTA leads and supports efforts to welcome and include all families at Powe.
Teacher Appreciation

Parents regularly contribute yummy treats to Teacher Appreciation breakfasts and lunches.
Dine Out Fundraising

Dine-out fundraisers, like the ever popular PoweNuts, support our work. In addition to promoting the event, the PTA makes sure that every student gets a treat.
Staff Support

We love all staff members - not just our teachers. Here, students are making a farewell card for our long-time crossing guard.
Enrichment Support

The PTA supports clubs and enrichment activities like Science Olympiad with funding and volunteers.
Field Trip Support

PTA funds help to make field trips more affordable for all students. The PTA also helps support student-lead fundraising efforts.
